Bob and Muriel Whitchurch, long term members of Isca, moved to Troyes in France in 1998. They lead the church “L’Oasis” which began in their home, and is currently looking for a permanent location in Troyes. This church is one of a very small number of Protestant churches in the town.
They have a particular concern for students, and have seen a “GBU” (Groupe Biblique Universitaire) established – a ‘Christian Union’ for outreach among the 7000 students in Troyes. The church has also been involved with Alpha, with the Alliance Evangelique Française, and has been at the origin of many of the inter-church activities in the city.
Bob also works closely with Jean Pillonel in the development of the “Destinée” network of churches in France, which links in with the other European churches in Salt & Light. Leaders’ gatherings and an annual summer camp at Gagnières in the Cévennes are the main activities which encourage the growth of relational links.
