In the 1960s a small group of Christians began meeting in the living room of a house in Pinhoe. They had experienced something new of the power of the Holy Spirit and were looking to become a church that encouraged a greater freedom of worship and real experience of living together in community and fellowship.
The group expanded and began meeting in a school hall. Over the years Isca congregations have met in various locations across the city and currently meet as one congregation in Willowbrook School.
Throughout the history of Isca, small groups meeting in members homes have been a key building block of the church. They are where people really get to know and care for one another. These groups provide friendship, prayer and teaching while the congregation gives weekly experience of worship and opportunity to use God given gifts.
Isca Church is part of Salt and Light Ministries, and Isca in particular has links with Brazil, France, Romania and Uganda who it supports by visiting, praying and giving.
Isca is also a member of the Evangelical Alliance and locally it is part of the Exeter Evangelical Partnership, working together with other churches across the city.
